Some Responsibilities of the Excise Board
- Estimating Revenue
- Reviewing and Approval of Budget
- Review and Approving Holidays for the County
- The County Excise Board is responsible for final approval of the Annual County Budget and property tax levy.
Some Responsibilities of the Equalization Board
- Hear protests filed against a property’s appraised value, or taxable status or exempt status.
- Raise or lower appraised values to conform to the fair cash value of a property’s use.
- Add omitted property.
- Cancel assessments on property not taxable.
